I’ve been busy working on Shadow Dance, with a couple of “learning opportunities” (read: screwed up and frogged). Somehow last night I messed up the row end/beginning and skipped a stitch where it shouldn’t have been. I didn’t notice for 3 rows. Oops. Back up. Try again. I’m just to the point where I’ll change the colors and make the light dark and the dark light. In this photo you can see the increases heading down the shoulder (it’s shown upside down since it’s knit from the top down).

I won’t get it finished before it’s time to cast on for my first ever KAL: La Digitessa (Ravelry link) by Yarnissima. Oh my, theses are some amazing socks! This is the first KAL (Knit-A-Long) I’ve ever participated in. Should be fun! This KAL has been started by Knitpickin on Ravelry and the forum already has 244 posts with chatter about the KAL. Here is a photo of the finished product, by PuraLana

Doesn’t that look fantastic? Yarnissima sells kits using yarn from Wollmeise, but I had already bought and downloaded the pattern. I will make mine using KnitPicks Essential yarn (75% merino, 25% nylon):

I hope to have some time this weekend to make up a gauge swatch. The KAL starts on the 13th of this month so not much time left to get ready. These will be my first toe-up socks, and it will also be my first 2-at-a-time socks. Oh boy! AND this challenging pattern (it’s several pages long with several charts). I’m really looking forward to it!
