More Than I Thought

I’ve been reading a lot of knitting blogs these past few days and a lot of people are posting summaries of their finished knitting projects for 2008.  “Man,” I thought, “these people made a lot of stuff!  Where do they find the time?”  I must be really slow.

I started thinking about my 2008 and, besides remembering how busy I was at work for most of the year, and being pretty sick in the winter, and moving to a new house in August and playing tour guide to Mom and friends for 3 weeks, I couldn’t think of anything that could have kept me from spending my time doing things I like doing.

Then I went to Ravelry and looked at my projects page.  Hey!  I actually completed 13 FO’s in 2008!  That’s more than I thought!  That’s more than 1 per month.  Considering that life goes on in spite of knitting projects, that’s not bad.  I decided, late this Saturday night, that I deserved a photo spread commemorating 2008 just like everyone else.  So, here it is, from earliest finished, to the latest:

In process and soon to be finished in early 2009:

And finally, DB’s scarf which will be finished, come hell or high water, some time in 2009:

So, no time to waste!  Out with the old and on with the new!

  1. Those are some very nice projects. I think I finished more, but they are smaller and less complex. You’ve inspired me to do a little photo thing myself in the next couple of days.

And, yes, here’s to another good knitting year.

  2. I am not sure if you can read it if I comment in Dutch so I will try to do it in English.

Thank you for your comment on my blog.

Your FO’s look lovely. I don’t think you can compare yourself with others. Maybe they have finished more project but look at your projects. They look like a lot of work to me! So: well done!!
