These past two weeks I’ve worked merrily away on projects at home and have enjoyed every minute of it. Now, suddenly, it’s Sunday and tomorrow I go back to work. It will be a busy week at work also. Bummer.
What I realized today is that there’s one project that I’m VERY late with, without any good excuse, and I feel bad that it’s not yet finished. And here it is time to go back to work, which leaves me less time for projects. What I’m referring to is my mom’s Christmas present, which is quickly becoming a Christmas/birthday present. I can’t tell you what it is, other than to say it is NOT knitting. She has no idea what it is and I’m not about to spill the beans here!
I’ve spent this afternoon working on mom’s present. I’m really enjoying it but it takes a lot of time and now I wished I had started a long time ago. I got sucked into the knitting. The knitting pulled me in like I was attached to the end of a ball of yarn and couldn’t get loose. I have so many knitting ideas running around in my head that it’s a little worrying sometimes. Am I obsessed?
I don’t have any photos to show you today. The only photos I’ve taken in the last few days are of knitting projects in process, aka Mitts to Match. Instead of detailing the method for increasing in Brioche, I can either direct you to Nancy’s site, or show you with photos. I can’t really put links in a downloadable .pdf so I’m putting in some photos instead. It is surprising to me how much time it takes to write up a simple knitting pattern! Hats off to all you designers who write out such detailed instructions! You deserve every penny that a pattern costs (and hopefully you are getting paid!). My first two original patterns (the mitts and the men’s socks) I will give away for free. After all, you readers are my guinea pigs! 🙂
Now, back to Mom’s project. Sorry it’s late Mom! I’ll try to keep my hands out of the knitting until it’s done!
