Random Updates

Last Monday night I went to de Jaren as usual for Stitch n Bitch.  It was a fun night with a lot of new people, which is unusual.  Also some people stopped to see what we were up to.  We can be quite an attraction sometimes!

I left there to head home at about 9:15 pm.  While waiting for a tram I saw the moon rising and took about 10 photos trying to capture it.  This was the best one.  It is still really warm here and we’re really enjoying being outside.

Unfortunately, we can’t really use the back yard at all.  It’s a jungle again (nothing has been done since we moved in) and a spider paradise.  I braved the outdoors this morning and saw this spider busy wrapping up his dinner – 2 flies caught in his web.  As long as they stay outside, I don’t mind the spiders and applaud their fly catching.  It means fewer flies in the house!

Everyone is welcome! We meet on Monday nights at de Jaren, from about 7:45 or so until ??. We have a love/hate relationship with de Jaren. They turn down the lights just when we are getting into our knitting stride. The service is, well, like most cafes in Amsterdam, lousy at worst and spotty at best. The good part is that it’s a public place where everyone is welcome and can drop in when they like. See you there?
